.jpg) Folllowing the Yasida acquisition last November, Silberline and our partners witnessed another significant milestone in Asia on August 1, 2009. The grand opening of Silberline's new Technical Center in Suzhou, China enables Silberline to better serve our customers' needs in the rapidly growing China and Asia/Pacific markets.
August 1, 2009 was an auspicious day for the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony. Over 100 distinguished customers and partners from China and Asia Pacific joined top ranked local government officials, Ms. Lisa Jane Scheller, Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Michael Lowe, Managing Director of Asia Pacific, and local employees to celebrate and mark the inauguration of Silberline's Technical Center in Suzhou, China. Located near cosmopolitan Shanghai, we are situated within Suzhou Singapore Industral Park, one of China's fastest-growing areas. The new technical center has approximately 1,000 square meters of well equipped laboratory facilities and office area. The technical center will strengthen our presence and serve as the epicenter for Silberline operations in China. Tapping our global capabilities and network, the new China Technical Center will serve the challenging needs of our China and Asia Pacific customers cutting across the automotive, industrial coatings, ink and plastics markets. Ms. Lisa Jane Scheller made an excellent remark at the ceremony. She said, "Silberline has shown its commitment to its customers in Asia and growth in the region through this latest and ongoing investment in our Technical Center in Suzhou. At this center, our customers will be able to work with our trained technical staff for formulation expertise, application development, testing, training, and other support." Lisa thanked the local government of Suzhou, local suppliers, customers, long-time partners and the local employees for their support over the past years and looks forward to continuing this relationship in the future. Mr. Michael Lowe, the Managing Director of Asia Pacific, said, "We are proud to celebrate the opening of this new Technical Cener, which we built to better meet our customers' needs in the region that continues to drive tremendous growth for our business."
