Regular
Grades:
The Regular grades are based on leafing
aluminum pigments and are included in the Silvex® 100,
200 and 300 series. They have wide particle size distribution
ranges and offer excellent hiding at low loading levels. These
grades are well suited for application in blown film where
pigment stability and high opacity are important. They are
not recommended for use with colorants where clean, high chroma
effects are desired.
Reflective
Grades:
The Reflective grades are based on medium to coarse non-leafing
aluminum pigments with D(50%) from 21 to 44 microns and particle
size distribution ranges more controlled than the Regular
grades. These grades are better suited for systems pigmented
with chromatic pigments and will offer cleaner brighter effects
than the Regular grades. The Reflective grades are included
in the Silvex® 540 and 620 series.
Sparkle
Silver® Grades:
The Sparkle Silver® grades are based on Sparkle Silver® technology and are brighter and whiter than the Reflective
grades. They have D(50%) from 14 to 55 microns. The Sparkle
Silver® grades can be used with chromatic pigments to
offer cleaner and brighter effects than with the Regular or
Reflective grades. The Sparkle Silver® grades are included
in the Silvex® and Silvet® 760, 790, 880 and 960 series.
Sparkle
Silver® Premier Grades:
The Sparkle Silver® Premier grades are automotive
quality lenticular pigments with D(50%) between 17 and 47
microns. They have highly controlled particle size distribution
ranges that produce clean bright appearances. They are the
brightest and whitest pigments based on their average particle
size and will produce a very smooth patina and clean colors
when tinted. The Sparkle Silver® Premier grades include
the SSP 838, 860, 890, 910 and 950 series, as well as ET-2426
and ET-2025.
