Silvex®
Grades:
Offered in a wide range of particle sizes, many of our Silvex® grades can be used to produce a variety of metallic effects
in screen ink applications. These grades are aluminum pigment
flakes dampened by broadly compatible plasticizers. Many Silberline products for coatings and plastics are often used in screen printing applications. The primary coatings pigments used for screen printing are cornflake or lenticular automotive grades provided as pastes in a mineral spirits carrier. Solvent free Silvex® grades commonly used in plastics applications are also used in screen printing inks. For improved compatibility Silvex® products carried in DIDP are used in vinyl inks. The choice of a specific grade for use in a screen printing ink should be made based on the aesthetic appearance of the aluminum pigment, particle size and carrier type. This information can be found in the Automotive and Plastics sections of the Product Data Guide. For UV applications, please contact our Technical Service department.
Geometric Pigments™:
These tiny holographic flakes project the full spectrum of colors with brilliance and clarity. Geometric Pigment is made from clear polyester, which has been holographically embossed and vacuum metallized. It is then coated and micro-cut into various flake sizes and shapes. Each flake is epoxy encapsulated to promote tint durability and enhance optical performance on a microscopic scale. Geometric Pigment can be used in screen ink applications. Geometric Pigment is offered in various sizes and shapes and four colors of tint: silver, gold, copper and pewter.
