PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

-Exceptionally bright, polished, lenticular aluminium flake pigment

PRODUCT APPLICATION

STU 0014-30-E1 provides an exceptionally bright, fine particle size, aluminium flake pigment in an easily handled, low dusting, meterable delivery form. The high metal content has been chosen to maximise formulation flexibility whilst ensuring good dispersibility in a wide range of thermoplastics.

When incorporated into polymers in a silver masstone, STU 0014-30-E1 can achieve a lustrous, solid metallic colour, similar to brushed steel or anodised aluminium, that a standard aluminium pigment is not able to achieve. STU 0014-30-E1 can be combined with transparent pigments and dyes to produce extraordinarily clean, polished metallic colours. It can also be incorporated into polymers at a very low addition level (typically 0.1 – 0.2%) to produce exceptional metalescent (“pearlescent-like”) effects.

INCORPORATION GUIDELINES

This grade is suitable for styrenics, polyolefins, polyamides, polyesters and acetal polymers. It may also be suitable for certain grades of EVA, polycarbonate and PVC, but compatibility tests are recommended. Optimum colour and brightness will be obtained by incorporating this grade under conditions of good mixing, but low shear. The granular delivery form allows tumble blending or easy metering into polymer, prior to processing.


SAFETY AND HANDLING

Aluminum pigment should be stored in the original shipping container and kept tightly sealed. Store containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated, and properly rated area. Avoid any conditions that will suspend or float the particles in the air, creating a dust cloud. Avoid all possible sources of ignition.
